Design Challenge Entries - Squares
We had six entries in this month's challenge, and it's good to welcome a couple of new entrants, alongside some regulars.
From darkest to lightest, the designs are (with the fat quarter view on the left, swatch on the right):
Almost Square by Linsart.
Square Illusion by Olgart
Mosaic Water by PoSH
Sashiko Squares by Polly Dextrous
Helen said she has been inspired by her current obsession - stitching samplers using indigo dyed threads based on traditional Japanese embroidery techniques.
Gelato Square Stripe Twist by Heckadoodledo
Suzanne decided she would use the gelato colour palette for this month's challenge and came up with the 'Gelato Square Stripe Twist' design
Squares Squared by Dr Bendy.
Victoria said, 'The design is partly inspired by Pachelbel's Canon in D - the idea of one simple motif repeating...but I also wanted to make a pretty pattern that would work whichever way the fabric was cut so as to minimise wastage.'
Lots of variety again, this month, so hopefully something there for everyone. Thanks to all our entrants. Don't forget to Like your favourite(s) either below or on Facebook, and tell the designer what you like about the design. It's really encouraging for them to get feedback from you all. Some of these designs are available in our Market Place.
If this has inspired you to have a go yourself, there are lots of blog posts to give you help and ideas. Look out next month for our competition. The theme is Easter and the start date is March 8th.
