Peg Bags

01 May 2014 09:00

If you've been with us a while, you may remember that we recently gave away a copy of Christine Leech's book 'Little Sew and Sew'.  It contains lots of sewing ideas with embroidery embellishments. So, when I needed a new peg bag, I decided to use the one in Christine's book.

I love cross-stitch, but I'm not so keen on free-hand embroidery, so I decided to print the design instead. (Sorry, Christine. Hope you don't mind!) I created a very quick hand-drawn stripe for the lining fabric.

Then I followed Christine's instructions for making the bag up.

If you don't have the book, or fancy a different design of peg bag, there are lots of instructions and patterns to choose from on-line.  I have put some on my Pinterest board called Crafty Sewing Ideas (you have to scroll down for some of them), including:

This is a bit different.  It's called a Swedish peg bag on Pinterest.  Unfortunately, there are no instructions, just a pattern to buy.

This is a fairly traditional design and could be personalised in many ways.  It's from Made with love by Hannah.

If you've made a peg bag, we'd love to see it - upload it below.  Or if you know of another design, tell us about that, too.
