Fabric Fun April Craft Club

13 March 2019 21:16

It's time to start thinking about our April Fabric Fun Craft Club. This month we are going to try English Paper Piecing, otherwise known as patchwork!

There are two ways of sewing scraps of fabric together to make a larger piece. You can use a sewing machine or stitch by hand. We're going to do the hand version this month.

It's not as difficult as it might seem and is very satisfying. It's also very portable. Patchwork is generally stitched in blocks up to about 30cms square, often much smaller. Only when you have all your blocks completed do you start to stitch them all together.  So you can take a few pieces of fabric, needle, thread and small scissors and you can keep busy for quite a while. (I took some patchwork on holiday with me a couple of years ago when we went away in the middle of the 100 days project.)

We will be making the Tumbling Blocks pattern, which is made up of diamonds. We will make a set of coasters and you will also have enough materials to make a cushion cover with your new skills.

To order a box and join in with the fun, please email admin@printmepretty.co.uk. Boxes must be requested and paid for by March 20th.

Boxes will be sent out at the beginning of April and club night next month will be on Monday, April 8th at 8pm.
