Design Challenge Entries - Stately Homes
We had two entries in this month's challenge - neither of them from the UK!
This one, Stitched Monogram by Polly Dextrous, is based on a plaster work monogram on a house in Bayreuth, Germany. Helen used ink for the pink render then stitched the decorative outline in a similar shade of silk.
The second entry is Victorian House by By Cornelia.
They are both shown at the fat quarter size and then a close up to show a bit more detail - the swatch size didn't really work for either of these designs as a way of showing more detail. I had a bit of trouble with the 'swatch' size for the Victorian House, so I'm afraid it's not quite in focus. The fabric is beautifully crisp.
As always, you can also find these on FB, where you can comment on the designs and Like either - or both! - of them.
If you're inspired to have a go yourself, next month's theme is Blue and White.
I'm also hoping we can make a quilt for Project Linus. (They make quilts to give to children who are sick in hospital.) If you create a design, it will be included in the quilt, but if I have to make the whole thing , it will take a long time to be finished! I would love it if some of you made blocks to be added to the quilt. I'll give you the full details when I launch next month's challenge, on September 5th.
Meanwhile, thanks to the two designers who sent in entries (you can check out the design brief here) and to those of you who Like the designs here (below) or on FB.
