Fabric Fun Craft Club in September
Now that the Craft Club has been running for a few months, it's time to assess it and make a few tweaks.
Up till now, we've tried a new craft each month, with a main 'make' and an additional one to expand your skills, or give you more practice. However, having a new craft each month has begun to feel a bit pressured, and that's the last thing any of us want - crafting is supposed to be relaxing, after all! It also hasn't given much time for anyone who gets excited about a new craft and wants to go further with it. (My personal favourite so far has been dyeing with natural dyes. I've amassed quite a pile of 'experiments', but there are still quite a number of dyes I want to try.)
So, for the rest of the year, I'm going to change the format somewhat. We'll still meet monthly, but instead of going through both projects on one night, then moving on the following month, we'll just do one project the first month, with the second project the following month. There will be an option for people to join in the second month, with a smaller box, if they didn't sign up for the first month. Those who sign up for the first month will receive everything they need for both projects.
We normally have our club night around the 8th of the month, but for various reasons - hot weather, holidays (yours and mine), return to school, etc - I've decided to hold the September club night nearer the end of the month, on Tuesday, September 24th. The October club night will be on Tuesday, October 8th. This month's box will cost £20. This includes postage within the UK. If you live outside the UK, please add an extra £4 for postage.
The closing date for orders for the box will be Friday, 6th September. Please email me at admin@printmepretty.co.uk if you would like to join in.
Our craft for September and October will be patchwork using half square triangles. You will need a sewing machine for this project. (In theory, you could hand-stitch the seams, but I think it might be a bit tedious and maybe not very accurate - but if you want to have a go, please do!)
You don't need to know anything about patchwork to sign up; we will cover everything you need to know. We will use our half square triangles to make two different cushion covers.
If you sign up by Sunday, September 1st, you may choose whether your fabric is blues and greens, minks and pinks or brights. Let me know which you prefer when you email, and please include your address for posting your box to you.
Our club night is held live in our private Facebook group. Afterwards, the videos will be posted on Teachable.com, which hosts courses. It means you will have permanent access to the videos and all support materials, so it's not the end of the world if you have to miss the live workshop.
I look forward to welcoming you to our next workshop!
