What inspires you?
Happy Easter! I hope you're enjoying your long weekend.
I thought today would be a good opportunity to think about inspiration - what inspires you? In general, in the design process and in what you make?
In general, I'm often inspired by music and beautiful scenery. Since I've been involved with Print me Pretty, I find I often see things which I'd like to turn into a fabric design. I wish I could do it better than I do! Here are a few images which have made me think about design.

I love a scene spotted through the trees - like a little spy-hole from one world to another! This one, and one or two to go with it, have been pestering to be turned into a design for a while now!
Flowers are always inspiring. I especially like the outline of certain plants against the sky - usually it's grasses, but this buddleia always looks good as the flowers die:

So do these parsley seed heads:

A perfect outline!

and beautiful colours:

I love a spectacular sunset, too. I think it's the combination of amazing colours, silhouettes of buildings and trees and maybe something about the quality of the light:

The sky at other times of day can be impressive, too:

I'm sure there must be a fabric design or two in there, somewhere!
Architechtural and decorative features can provide inspiration:

I could go on, but I think that's enough for now! What about you? What inspires you?
